Clarissa Lara
Junior Crew Director
My name is Clarissa Lara. I am the director of LRD Junior Crew, and I have been dancing since I was 6 years old. I am very grateful to be this year's Junior Crew director, as I am able to share my passion for the arts with the next generation of dancers. I am currently a sophomore in college with a major in Kinesiology. I am hoping to become a physical therapist in the future to continue working with dancers throughout my life. A fun fact about me is that I've been in Karate since I was four years old, and still continue to do it to this day.
Mariana Ortega
Manager
I'm current a senior at J.B. Alexander High School. I have been dancing for 14 years, and I am currently Captain of the Dazzler Dance Team. My favorite hobbies outside of dance are designing outfits, cooking, and shopping. I plan to attend college outside of Laredo where I will major in marketing and continue dancing, for it is my passion. My favorite thing about LRD is the environment and the opportunities given to us that allow students to feel comfortable and genuinely express their love for dance. I am very excited to be manager this year and work amongst an amazing group of faculty.
Kassandra Peña
Crew Director
My name is Kassandra Peña. I am 23 years old, and I am the director of LRD Crew. I have a minor in dance, and I have attended different dance conventions and competitions such as Monsters of Hip Hop, Hip Hop International, KAOS, and Dallas Hip Hop Fest. All of which have given me the proper training and growth to eventually pass on to my students. What I enjoy about directing and teaching at LRD is the care, love, and support we have for each other as a faculty, and the connections we build with our students.
